Aunt Bessie's Story

I was very lucky growing up. I had a very strong female role model . . . My Aunt Bessie. The biggest lesson Aunt Bessie taught me was that there’s a big difference between right and wrong, and that we should always treat people the way we would like to be treated.

She had three other very important principles she lived by:

* Always find the best in others.

* Always forgive and forget.

* Always lend a helping hand.

Aunt Bessie knew a lot about life but she never had any children. Instead she treated all kids as her own and she loved telling old stories and sharing life lessons. She was the nicest, kindest, warmest, most forgiving and understanding person I’ve ever known. She had a talent for helping people resolve conflict and you could always count on her for a shoulder to cry on. Aunt Bessie’s only fault was that she cared more for other people than she did for herself.

When I got the opportunity to run a car dealership, I decided to apply the lessons I learned from Aunt Bessie.

Rule #1:

We will treat all our customers the way we would like to be treated. We’ll treat everybody as a “friend of the family” and share the same warmth and kindness that Aunt Bessie showed to everyone.

Rule #2:

We will look for the best in our customers. Instead of focusing on why they can’t buy we’ll pay attention to the reasons they can buy.

Rule #3:

We will always forgive the past mistakes of our customers and focus on creating a brighter future. We’ll help good people get a fair shake on a safe reliable automobile that makes them feel proud.

Rule #4:

We will always be there to lend a helping hand when our customers need it most.

With these rules in mind I created my Family First Formula. It’s a totally new way of buying a car for you and it lets me preserve Aunt Bessie’s legacy at the same time.
